history

The Lawn Care Business of St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center was started in June of 2011 to meet the growing need for economic development in the Flint community. Following the success of the Sewing Business and the opportunities it granted women in need of work, the founders made it their mission to expand that same blessing to the local men. In 2011, for the first time in the organization's history, we began to offer an Employment Preparation Program for structurally unemployable men in the community. The response was overwhelming, and the Lawn Care business began to provide hands on training while cleaning up the surrounding neighborhoods.
